Tricare covers your wig and we can help you qualify!

If you are looking to buy a wig due to a medical condition or treatment, Tricare will cover the cost of your wig. Tricare covers one wig per beneficiary per lifetime if you meet the following criteria:

  • Your physician certifies that your hair loss has resulted from the treatment of a malignant disease, for example, cancer.
  • You have not already received a wig or hairpiece through the U.S. Government.

You will need a prescription from your physician with the diagnosis code A9282 for a cranial prosthesis to qualify for a medical wig through Tricare. Here are all the steps to file a claim if you choose to do it yourself, or we can help file your claim for you for absolutely FREE. There is no catch and no hidden fees, we promise!

We are a non-profit organization that helps qualify cancer patients with high quality wigs, breast prostheses, mastectomy supplies, post-surgical garments, and lymphedema compression wear through their insurance at no cost. We work directly with insurance providers to verify eligibility and file claims on behalf of our patients.

All you have to do is fill out the Qualify through Insurance form and browse through our online store and pick a wig you like, and we will take care of the rest! We will check your eligibility with Tricare, reach out to your doctor to get a prescription for you if you already don't have one, and submit all your paperwork with Tricare on your behalf.

Our goal at TRS Care is to help our patients as much as we can, so they can focus their energy on their health and concentrate on healing. Get started now! :)

I suffer from low thyroid and I am a diabetic. This year I have had a lot of death and illnesses in my family which may have contributed to my hair loss.

I have breast cancer was set up for Kemo but I got sepsis in hospital leaving me very sick. I went to have all my radiation but because of no Kemo due to sepsis they decided to up the radiation and I’m left with scars and radiation burn cellious. Not only was I hurt from surgery but from the sepsis than the burn. All of this effected my hair, my depression and many other illnesses. It is hard to look into any mirror. I lost all self esteem I had. I’m ugly now but was not prior to this nightmare. Please check with my insurance to see if I qualify for a wig or just something I can pull my remaining hair back and place a grade or something. I thank you even if I do not qualify. It’s hard to write this because I don’t look in any mirrors anymore. I don’t go outside anymore. It’s sad what we are put through with cancer……Donna

I’m about to be 47 years old in a few months and I suffer with mental health issues with Suicidal Manic Depression, PTSD, Chronic Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar 1 & 2 Disorder and Agoraphobia. I also suffer with CHF w/Atrial Fib, Enlarged Heart, Hypothyroidism w/Graves Disease, Enlarged Goiter, Neuropathy, Anemia, Ademia, Lump In My Left Breast and many more health issues. I’ve lost most of my hair to where that I have to wear wigs or have to wear hats (I have bald spots all over my head with no hair). My hair was real thick and so long and was past my buttocks but I had to cut it off due to it falling out. I’ve even lost my eyebrows and eyelashes due from all of my health issues. I’ve had suicidal thoughts, no self-esteem and it has made my life not worth living for cause of the fact that I have practically no hair on my head, no eyebrows and hardly no eyelashes. I’m disabled due to chronic health/mental issues and I’m not able to afford a wig made out of real hair or hair extensions. If I had a wig that’s made with real hair then I believe I would have better self-esteem and would feel better about my self personally including fake eyelashes and eyebrows. I hate looking into the mirror seeing myself with no hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. Nobody cares about anyone nowadays cause they only care about themselves and/or what they can get off of others. I had always donated my hair for those who needed wigs since I was 15 years old up until I wasn’t able to donate when I started losing my hair. Please help me Please? I’m in desperate need of a real human hair wig!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE🙏😥😭

I am about to be 70 years old and have been homebound and very ill with health issues for a long time , I also suffer from severe depression , and a lot of stress from being completely alone as all my family has passed away , my hair has been coming out and I started cutting on it because of my depression and now it looks horrible and I do not even want to look at myself in the mirror anymore because I feel so bad about myself , would it be possible for me to purchase a wig for myself while I wait for some of my hair to start to grow back , I am desperate for help , Thanks
